You'll never believe where our recycled silver comes from!

We take immense pride in knowing the origin of all the precious metals in our jewellery collections. Our gold and silver are either sourced from @Fairminedofficial certified mines or crafted from recycled materials.

Previously, our recycled metals came from a mix of old jewellery and industry scrap—the best option available at the time.

However, when we say 'recycled,' we aim to embody the true definition of rescuing materials that would otherwise be discarded.

So, for our newest pieces, we've sourced an extraordinary supply of silver extracted from old X-ray film. Yes, you read that right—X-rays contain silver!

Our friends @betts_metal_sales are transforming discarded medical film collected from the NHS and giving the silver a new lease on life. Helping hospitals to earn money from X-rays, which would normally languish in storage or be sent to landfill

This means when you purchase a Considered pearl pendant, you're not just investing in a stunning piece of craftsmanship, but also helping to protect our environment and earth's precious resources.

An extra special touch…

Each of our unique Polynesian pearl pendants has been engraved with it's own edition number. So, when you wear one of our pieces you'll have a tiny reminder that you are wearing something truly unique.

Sourcing precious stones and metals that have been produced with respect for the environment takes time. We only use them when we know exactly where they came from.

That might mean we can’t make something quickly or follow a particular trend, but that’s okay. We’d rather remain true to our beliefs than compromise for the sake of fashion.

Instead, our pieces are designed in response to beautiful materials sourced to the highest standards. Our Kamoka Pearl pendants are the epitome of this. Natural keshi pearls grown in the nutrient-rich lagoon of Ahe Atoll located 300 miles northeast of Tahiti in French Polynesia.

Each pearl is completely different. Some small, some large, some smooth others undulating. All unique. Just like the wearer.

What a fabulous day out yesterday, collecting our stunning limited edition pearls from Birmingham's historic jewellery quarter.

The experienced craftspeople at Andra are part of our Created in the UK supply chain and are responsible for setting our Tahitian pearls. During our chats, we discovered that two of the team, Gary and Shannon, have actually visited the @kamokapearl farm where our pearls were grown (not feeling jealous at all). How lovely to think they have now played a role in creating this gorgeous collection.

While our jewellery pieces are meticulously crafted in the UK, the gold used is sourced from the Iquira artisanal mine in Colombia, certified by @fairminedofficial. This ensures that the miners receive a fair price for their gold and that the mining practices protect the environment.

The @fairminedofficial certification guarantees the provenance of our Signature gold, adding an extra layer of specialness to our jewellery.

Introducing our first limited edition collection of pendants! These really have been a labour of love.

Baroque pearls from the Kamoka Pearl Farm have been set in a collection of just 20 individually numbered Considered pendants.

The term baroque refers to the amorphous shape of the pearl. Rather than spherical, they can be anything from a round pearl with a bump on the side to wild and undulating. Each with a unique character. The pendant casings have been hand carved around each pearl to celebrate their organic shape.

The time has come. Our limited edition baroque pearl pendants have arrived and here's a first sneak peek.

These are an edition collection of 20 individually numbered pendants, each set with a one-off Tahitian keshi pearl from our friends at @Kamokapearl

Keshi pearls are created by nature. They don't contain the circular nucleus normally used to create cultured pearls. Instead the oyster puts it's own unique stamp on the shape of the pearl.

The pendant casings have been hand carved around each pearl to celebrate their organic shape. Choose from recycled silver or gold vermeil to wear with pride.

Available exclusively on the Considered website from Monday.

BTS: Another peak behind the scenes at our new pearl edition pieces. The pendants have now been cast in recycled silver, ready for their coating of 18 carat gold vermeil.

We only have 20 of these baroque pearls and had planned to set them all in gold pendants. However, we've made a last minute decision to keep 6 in the silver, for those who love cooler tones.
